The staff at Community Housing Initiatives (CHI) are pleased to begin accepting applications for residency at Tulip Tree Apartments, a new apartment community located at 728 Oakbrook Drive in Marion. Applications will open beginning January 10. Currently under construction, these 40 new apartments for persons age 55+ will all be available for lease by mid-March. Tulip Tree, a high-quality independent living community, provides spacious 2-bedroom apartments. Several outstanding features are provided at Tulip Tree, including in-unit laundry facilities, energy-efficient appliances, free parking, and a community gathering room. These are just a few examples of the numerous amenities that residents can enjoy when choosing Tulip Tree as their residence. The property will be locally managed by CHI’s Cedar Rapids office. Community Housing Initiatives will begin accepting applications for Tulip Tree Apartments on its website, www.chihousing.com, on January 10. People interested in the property can also call for information at 515-225-4185. Accessible apartments are available, and CHI is an equal housing opportunity provider. Income restrictions will apply to 36 of 40 apartments at Tulip Tree, and the remaining four are available at “market rate” without income restrictions. A ribbon cutting for Tulip Tree and public tours will be held on Wednesday, March. 20.
