Lush Puppy Boutique, a new pet boutique, will celebrate its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on July 19. The event will take place at Noon at the store's location in the Uptown Marion district, 660 10th St, Ste A, celebrating the arrival of a distinctive shopping experience for pet lovers in the Marion/Cedar Rapids area. After an 18-year career in the investment sector, owner Marcy Fauconniere decided to pivot from the corporate world to follow her passion for pets and entrepreneurship. Several diverse jobs later she considered owning her own business where she could bring her dog to work everyday. Lush Puppy Boutique opened its doors on Black Friday of 2023. The boutique offers a unique open floor plan, allowing pets to explore the store comfortably. Amenities include a cozy sitting area and complimentary water bowls for dogs inside and outside the shop. Fauconniere’s vision for Lush Puppy is to create a boutique experience that stands out in the local market. “We carry items that you may not find at big box stores or online retailers,” said Fauconniere. “We’ve also curated a selection of products sourced from local vendors such as Paws Over People, LaRae Jewelry, Wigglewow, and The Barkery.” Lush Puppy Boutique recently introduced a dog-safe soft serve ice cream with a variety of toppings. The store is also now offering Pup-corn, air-popped popcorn with dog-safe flavor powders. Throughout the summer and fall, Lush Puppy will host several events, including nail trim clinics in partnership with Uptown Paws, treat sampler days, and a Doggie Pancake Breakfast. Additionally, the boutique will offer Private Shopper days for dogs with social anxiety, ensuring a stress-free shopping experience. “Future plans also include puppy yoga classes and meet-and-greet events with local rescue animals, fostering connections between adoptable pets and potential forever families,” added Fauconniere. Lush Puppy Boutique is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Sunday from Noon to 4:00 PM. The store is closed on Mondays.
